It’s 1996 and it's raining. Your first apartment, your first quiet night away on your own. Soon after unpacking your first box, finding what your siblings packed away for you, arranging your cassette tapes, and hanging up your favourite denim jacket you accidentally crack open the back of your wardrobe, revealing a portal into your neighbours lives. Interacting and solving puzzles with their personal belongings, you begin to learn who they are, what their lives are like, and how through the lens of loneliness, you can feel connected. Gameplay Korter 1996 is an exploration of loneliness in a point and click adventure game. You can organise and decorate your new apartment and go on expeditions to other people's homes to find more items. While exploring different apartments on the block, you get to solve puzzles that will lead you to more information on each of the inhabitants. How you interact with the items in their apartments will move forward their story and through item dialogues you get to know about their lives.
