The Library survived... its order did not! Somehow, the mystical cats of Alexandria saved the Library from the fire. The price: 4,800 scrolls scattered everywhere, some guarded by the cats themselves. But nothing a little love can't solve: they'll be happy to hand them over if you pet them! Every scroll goes where it belongs Each culture's alphabet has its own colour, and the oldest ones live on the lowest floors: climb a little and you climb through time. Twenty-one writing traditions of the ancient world that might have stood in Alexandria (who knows!): Cuneiform, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Phoenician, Greek, Runic, Traditional Chinese and more. Each one is a collection to bring back to life, shelf by shelf. The little wooden handles come in five shapes (circle, square, pentagon, cross and hexagon), one for each of the five arts of knowledge, and every floor keeps a cozy corner for each art. A glyph on the seal points to the shelf, a numeral to the slot, and the miniature library at the heart of the atrium tells you where every culture fits! There you are: the scroll in your hand is a tiny address. Keys for the long way round Here and there, a curtain of light closes a stair or a corridor. You can always take the long way round the rotunda, but somewhere nearby a key is waiting: a scroll like any other, except that its numeral tells you which curtain it opens. Carry it there, and the shortcut is yours for good. Optional abilities The mystical tree in the atrium grows the golden apples, in case you want a few special abilities on your run. Eat one and it grants a small magic, for good: - Sprint — run the long galleries. - Charged jump — hold, release, and reach the balconies the stairs never did. - Pharos mirrors — gaze into a mirror across the atrium and step out of its twin. - Culture sight — see every scroll of the same script glow through the walls. All of it is optional: every scroll in the building can be put away by a patient librarian. Cozy on purpose - No timers, no score, no failure. Sort at whatever pace suits you. - Save at any moment and pick it up later. - Gentle achievements that come at your own pace and stay within reach to the very end. - Play with one hand if you need to: the mouse alone can walk, look, pick up and place. - Three field-of-view presets and a camera that stays calm.
