Nightmere

Nightmere is a detective-mystery game with psychological horror elements fused into it. You play as Amelia, a burnt-out private investigator who reluctantly takes on a missing persons case in the small, quiet town of Nightmere – and finds something much darker. The year is 1991. Amelia steps off the bus and onto the soft, white snow. There is nothing else in sight – nothing but a long, barely paved path ahead of her surrounded by trees. Oh, and there’s also a small sign to the right of this trail, this trail that sits in the middle of nowhere. The sign reads, “Welcome to Nightmere!” Amelia, a young detective, has found herself in the small, quiet town of Nightmere to investigate the disappearance of an up-and-coming med student: Sarah. Very quickly, you’ll realize that there is something dark in the town of Nightmere. Not everything is as it seems. The people all around you are wearing masks. Even you. What happened to Sarah? What happened in Nightmere? …And what happened to you? The longer you stay in Nightmere, the more the town will peel off the mask you wear. There’s something just beyond the mere, hiding in the woods. Something that will shed the truth about the town, and you. The only question is, at what cost? Play the Demo Nightmere will have many gameplay features, all of which will help you unravel the main mystery of the town. As a player, you’ll be able to walk around town RPG-style and interact with NPCs to get information. Although still in development and subject to change, the demo still captures much of the features that will be present and improved upon for Nightmere. Explorable Locations Absorb yourself in multiple settings that will appear in Nightmere. A Unique Combat System Fight with words, use logic, and all the clues...but also with weapons. The combat system will include many aspects, some of which are shown in the demo. Hand-Drawn Art A core feature of the game will be 2D hand-drawn digital art to bring Nightmere to life. Mysteries and Puzzle Solving As a detective, you'll need to use your wits to crack the puzzles in order to continue. Search for clues and piece together conclusions at your own pace. The town never forgets. Are you ready to lose far worse than just your life? Figure out what really happened in Nightmere, to Sarah, and to yourself. Be not afraid of the truth; fear its consequences.
