Nin!STORY Our hero, Makibishi Kikumaru, has spent his fairly ordinary life so far in the company of his suspiciously tanuki-faced family, his younger sister and their grandfather. His life takes a turn, though, when his grandfather tragically passes away and a catgirl in weird clothes storms the funeral vigil and lets loose a hail of bullets. At this, his tanuki-faced little sister morphs into a tanuki-eared ninja girl. Our hero is frozen by the sudden strange sequence of events, but a beautiful woman with cat ears comes their rescue. "My name is Touka." "And as for you, Makibishi—or rather, Saiga Kikumaru—I am your protector." Welcome to your new life, Kikumaru. 1) There are people around this country known as demi-humans, as well as people of other origins, all unbeknownst to the rest of the population. 2) These beings served as ninja during the Sengoku period 3) And they still exist here and there across Japan today. 4) You were born into the Saiga family, who act as intermediaries between this underworld and mainstream society. 5) And so you are already involved in the struggle. If you don't get serious about it, you'll end up dead. (This part is vital.) Wow. How about that?
