Bloodtroupe is a top-down action and gladiatorial management game. Summary In Bloodtroupe, players enter into the year 2980. The Solar System has been conquered and colonized by the teeming masses of humanity. No celestial body has been spared from the terraforming initiatives of the early 2300s. Humankind exists everywhere. However, for the vast majorities, this life is not one of opulence and joy, but of strife and misery of the highest degree. The eight planets are ruled by the decadent monarchies of the Establishment. Life for most under this regime is brutal, short and without value. For many on the lowest rung of society, the only chance for a decent life is success in violent bloodsport games. Bloodtroupes are the groups of those who would risk their lives and their morality for a chance at a better life. Bloodtroupes travel the planets of the Solar System, entering into the ever-popular gladiatorial games to gain success and build their renown. Successful bloodtroupes experience glory beyond belief and their celebrity can reach even the highest lords of the Establishment. However, for those who fail (and many do), who die in the backwater slums of great cities, their names are quickly swept away and forgotten about, never to be given a thought again. Gameplay Take control of a fledgling bloodtroupe and lead it into glory using wit, skill, and just a bit of luck. Start small and take control of your gladiators personally as you lead them into battle against your rivals in small scale combat arenas. Use a variety of weapons, from basic swords and hammers all the way up to massive autocannons and dangerously experimental tools. Train them any way you wish in order to augment their abilities and make them win more. Each win increases your gladiator's prestige, and the prestige of your bloodtroupe. But be warned; death is permanent, so make every moment count. Travel between the planets of our solar system, exploring how humanity has spread across it. Manage fuel, food, and your wealth as you do so. Take control of the manager of the bloodtroupe, a distinct character in the world, and leverage your personality and your wealth as you experience randomly generated events that will ask difficult questions of your band of gladiators. Ultimately, your bloodtroupe is your own. Will you struggle and fight for survival, or will you rise up and become fabulously powerful?
