Your Mission The year is 2110. TyCorp and its drones have run the country since 2036. Will you break your kind from their chains? Many people have lost hope in this AI-driven society. Some go hungry, others just barely scrape by. Some even choose to join TyCorp's vast militia, dubbed "The System". You are Adrian Elliott. Your hometown of Voltropolis, Oregon has received a mass execution order. People are dying to the might of TyCorp's drones. It's up to you to make a change. Destroy every drone you see. Change the humans corrupted by TyCorp's manipulation. Break the System. High-Speed Hack 'N Slash Combat Use various weapons to gain style points and deal damage to enemies, such as a large sword, a laser rifle, even a skateboard. Keeping enemies alive for as long as possible is encouraged in order to rack up as much style as possible. Thinking outside the box with your weapons can be rewarded, as well as using your environment to your advantage. Unleash a higher power using Tension Burst, achievable after parrying enough enemy attacks or projectiles. Stat Leveling All of your stats (Health, movement speed, damage, and tension) can be upgraded by defeating enemies, or leveling up at home base, wherever it may be. Want to focus on higher damage? More HP? Higher Tension gauge? All can be achieved with a little robot carnage. Tight, Fast Platforming You'll find that your paths are quite open ended. You can either let the terrain guide you, or you can go off of the beaten path and find secrets, or other ways of completing the stage. Time is not of the essence, though satisfaction can be derived from clearing a level quickly. Jump, dash, rail grind, stomp, and slash your way to the goal, and watch the score you've racked up pay off in real time. Combat / Level Rankings With every bullet, skateboard hit, perfect parry (And of course, sword slash), you'll gain style points. Keep up your attack long enough, and you'll notice your letter rank in the corner go from D, to C, then B, A, and even S. Your style points accumulate, along with your kills, and remaining HP, and after a stage is done? Judgement ensues. You'll be ranked based on all three categories. Rack up a big enough number, and you'll get that S-rank no problem. Your standard score is also uploaded to the main menu leaderboard, so you can compare with your friends.
