Über Matecalipsis: El Último Mate
Argentina has run out of yerba. Nobody knows why.
Matecalipsis: The Last Mate is a turn-based deckbuilding roguelike set in an Argentina that's out of yerba mate, but has no shortage of trouble.
Choose your character, combine cards and amulets, and travel across the country through local legends, unexpected encounters, and choices that can save your run… or make it a whole lot harder.
Your deck. Your way to travel.
The Diner Owner, the Footballer, and the Doctor each have their own cards, resources, and approach to combat. Other characters are waiting to be discovered.
Manage your energy, anticipate enemy intentions, and combine attacks, skills, and powers. Pick your rewards and collect amulets to build a strategy that works… until the next encounter makes you improvise.
An Argentina to explore
Travel through all 23 provinces and the City of Buenos Aires, across five regions: Pampeana, Cuyo, the Northwest, the Northeast, and Patagonia.
Discover landscapes, local events, and more than 200 real-world facts with their sources. From Gualeguaychú's Carnival to the roads of Patagonia, every stop has something of its own. And it isn't always good news for your character.
Legends that won't stay in the storybooks
Face creatures from Argentine folklore, including the Lobizón, the Pombero, the Luz Mala, the Salamanca, and the Nahuelito. Each encounter calls for a different approach: a strong deck helps, but knowing when to play each card can make all the difference.
There's always one more stop
Buy cards and amulets from the Street Vendor, refresh his stock, and remove cards you no longer need. Trade with the Street Exchanger, rest, and decide how to spend your resources before moving on.
Between runs, spend your Tokens at the Roadside Kiosk to unlock cards for future journeys. Fill your Album with the cards, amulets, and enemies you discover, and unlock characters and story scenes as you progress.Real-world weather in your run
The game checks each province's real-world weather and brings it into the scenery. If it's raining in Córdoba, rain falls during combat. If there's fog in Tierra del Fuego, it rolls across the landscape. And if there's a thunderstorm in Santa Fe, you'll see lightning too.
Sunshine, clouds, rain, fog, and thunderstorms give each journey a different atmosphere, with the temperature shown on screen. Weather affects the visuals without changing the combat rules. You can turn its effects off in Options.
Made in Argentina
Argentine humor, milanesas, thermoses, and creatures of the wilderness, brought together in a pixel-art adventure where everyday life meets the absurd.
Pour one more mate. There's still water in the thermos.
