Descent is a free-roam multiplayer survival game where you and your coworkers monitor a haunted facility, identify possessed animatronics, and survive your shift.
Each player has their own office, complete with its own cameras, tools, doors, and generator. Work from your own office, stick together in someone else's, or split up and cover more ground.
Just make sure you know what you're doing before you wander into the dark.
SURVIVE THE SHIFT
Every shift takes place in a randomly generated facility. You have 8 in-game hours to complete your assignment.
During the night, animatronics begin roaming the facility. As they move, their stability gradually decreases, making them increasingly dangerous.
And somewhere in the facility, a vengeful spirit may possess one of them.
Your job is to determine which animatronic is possessed and deal with it before it becomes a problem.
A ghost can possess multiple animatronics throughout a single shift and you'll need to correctly identify the possessed animatronic a specified number of times to complete your assignment.
Get it wrong and you may degrade the animatronic.
WATCH YOUR CAMERAS
Your office gives you access to cameras throughout the facility, letting you monitor animatronics and keep track of what's happening outside.
Use what you see to figure out which animatronic has been possessed.
But don't rely on the cameras alone. Sometimes you'll need to leave your office and investigate the facility yourself.
KEEP THEM STABLE
The longer animatronics roam, the more their stability drops. Let it get too low, and they can become dangerous.
Repair animatronics to restore their stability to 100%, but make sure you've identified the possessed one first.
The last thing you want is to start a repair on the wrong animatronic.
USE THE PHONES
Phones are scattered throughout the facility and can be used to lure certain animatronics.
Call one to draw an animatronic away from an area, manipulate its position, or create an opportunity to investigate.
Just remember: if something is listening, it might come looking.
KEEP YOUR OFFICE POWERED
Every office has its own generator powering everything inside that office.
When your generator needs attention, you'll have to leave the safety of your office to keep it running.
Your coworkers have their own generators too meaning everyone has their own power to manage.
Help each other when things get dangerous or let your friend discover why the generator should have been maintained.
GET PAID. BUY UPGRADES.
Complete your shift and get paid.
During the day, spend your earnings on office upgrades and personal upgrades to help you survive future shifts.
But don't expect your paycheck to be guaranteed.
Take too long to finish your assignment or leave animatronics in poor condition and the higher-ups may dock your pay.
After all, you're still expected to do your job. Even when there's a ghost involved.
WORK TOGETHER
Split up and cover the facility. Stay together. Watch different cameras. Use phones to lure animatronics. Repair unstable machines.
Every player has their own office but surviving the shift is easier when you work together.
Find the possessed animatronic.
Keep the dangerous ones out.
Repair what you can.
And do it enough times to finish your shift.
