A cozy co-op factory game for 1–12 witches. No recipe book — discover potions by experimenting. Build an automated workshop with essence channels and creature workers. Brew too ambitiously and the forest starts fighting back.

关于 Whisperthorn
Welcome to Whisperthorn — a forest where every ingredient has a secret,
the cauldron has its own agenda, and your friends are absolutely not
reading the safety documentation.
You're a witch. So are your friends. Up to twelve of you share one
enchanted forest, building a magical potion factory from the ground up.
There is no recipe book. There are no instructions. There are only
ingredients, a cauldron, and the slowly dawning understanding of what
happens when you combine the wrong essences at the wrong time.Every ingredient tells you something
Moonberries shimmer with Lux and Aqua. Dragon scales pulse with Ignis
and Praecantatio. Ten magical aspects run through everything in the
forest, and every ingredient shows you exactly what it carries.
What the aspects become together — that you have to discover yourself. No recipes. Just the cauldron.
Throw ingredients in. Watch what happens.
A fizzle means you're completely off. A strange colour burst means
you're in interesting territory. A near-miss — the potion forms,
trembles, and collapses — means you're devastatingly close. A full
discovery erupts from the cauldron and writes itself into the shared
Grimoire with your name beside it.
The Grimoire is a real book that lives in your workshop. Everyone can
read it. Everyone can annotate it. Everyone will have opinions about
whether your hypothesis for why the Clarity Draught works is actually
correct.Build the factory
Discovering potions one at a time is fine. But you have ambitions.
That means automation.
- A Drying Rack draws out the Terra in fresh ingredients.
- A Mortar & Pestle unlocks the Ignis in things that burn.
- A Distiller concentrates Aqua and Lux into purer essence shards.
- Essence Channels carry magical particles between stations — warm
gold Lux, deep red Ignis, shimmering blue Aqua — flowing toward
the cauldron.
Assign creature workers to harvest, carry, stir, and guard. Place Rune
Stones and Essence Lenses to route and split the flows. A well-built
factory is genuinely beautiful to watch. A broken one scatters
particles across the workshop floor while someone insists they were
about to fix it.Brew carefully. Or don't.
Every potion you make adds Dissonance to the area around your cauldron.
The forest has a tolerance for magical disruption. It is not infinite.
Low Dissonance: a shimmer in the air. Medium: nearby ingredient nodes
start showing the wrong aspects. High: your creature workers get
confused, wander off, forget their jobs. Critical: something comes out
of the treeline. Overflow: a complete workshop catastrophe that will be
discussed for the rest of the session.
Purification Candles drain it slowly. Vent Rituals — a multiplayer
group activity that is louder than strictly necessary — dump it into a
forest node, which then behaves strangely for a while. Or simply brew
less aggressively than you planned.
In multiplayer, the Dissonance is communal. The blame, however, is
individual.The forest
- Five biomes, each rich in different aspects: the calm Moonlit Glade,
the volcanic Ember Hollow, the chaotic Murk, the ethereal Starfall
Ridge, the rare and dangerous Deep Grove.
- Day and night shift the ingredient landscape — some things only
grow in moonlight.
- The forest reacts to your Dissonance. Watch it change.
Multiplayer, the cozy-chaos way
Up to twelve witches via Steam. No forced roles — the factory creates
its own specialists. Someone becomes the factory architect. Someone
becomes the obsessive experimenter who fills the Grimoire with cryptic
notes. Someone just runs through the forest gathering things and has a
system they won't explain.
Drop in, drop out. The factory persists between sessions. The Grimoire
persists. The Dissonance, if you left it high, very much persists. The vibe
A cozy game where the comedy engine is an increasingly unstable potion
factory and the chaos engine is twelve people trying to agree on what
to throw in the cauldron next. Bring three friends. Bring eleven. Bring
nobody — the forest has secrets worth finding alone, and the Grimoire
doesn't care how long it takes to fill.
