Spellhook is a high-skill, physics-based action game that blends the speed of classic arena shooters with the tactical depth of a modern roguelite. Armed with a zero-cooldown grappling hook, you’ll swing, slide, and launch yourself through gothic arenas where one wrong move means instant death. THE ROGUELITE LOOP: ASCEND THE TOWER In our singleplayer mode, your journey begins in The Tower, a central hub and your last bastion against the Astral Gods. - The Run: Teleport into procedurally generated biomes where the environment is your playground and your tomb. - Dynamic Difficulty: The longer you stay in a level, the more aggressive the shadows become. Battle through hordes of Zombies, Skeleton Archers, and massive Ogres. - High-Stakes Extraction: Fight your way to the exit portal by defeating waves of enemies, or risk it all to slay the biome's Boss for guaranteed Ability Shards. - Meta-Progression: Use Weave and Coins gathered during runs to expand your Tower. Unlock the Potion Merchant, upgrade your character’s permanent stats (like health and multi-jumps), and use the portal to "wager" Weave for better loot multipliers. THE CLASSES: CHAOTIC MULTIPLAYER Test your skill in 4-player Free-For-All or 1v1 duels. With a one-hit-kill combat system, positioning and timing are everything. - The Mage: The ultimate glass cannon. Use a chainable, omnidirectional teleport to blink through danger, but beware—materializing inside a wall is fatal. Devastate the map with explosive fireballs and proximity mines. - The Paladin: A heavy-hitting juggernaut. The Paladin's passive shield can absorb one hit, allowing you to survive where others die. Pin enemies to walls with holy bolts or crush them with a Greatsword that stuns smaller classes. - The Earth Elementalist: Total terrain control. "Earthglide" through solid walls to ambush foes, or summon massive boulders and rock shields to literally rewrite the layout of the arena. CRAFT YOUR ARSENAL With over 20 unique abilities currently in the playtest, no two builds feel the same. - Ability Categories: Customize your kit with Mobility, Ranged, Charged, Melee, and Passive skills. - Merging Shards: Find and merge Ability Shards to increase their power. - Build Synergy: Combine the physics-based grappling hook with passives like the Lightning Sentry to automate destruction while you focus on high-speed parkour. PUSHING RETRO BOUNDARIES Experience a "fever dream" aesthetic powered by a custom runtime render-pipeline. Featuring dynamic dithering and radiance cascade lighting, Spellhook blends classic pixel art with modern spectacles. Every fireball and holy bolt realistically bleeds colored light that bounces off the crumbling gothic environment. THE GOAL Gather enough power within the Tower to challenge the Weaver God—a creator deity slain by the Astral Gods to replace magic with the cold certainty of physics. It’s time to end the cycle.
