Why do people do the things they do? You play as a little girl trying to find her place in a society that forces conformity, but you're different, and they don't like it. Your Mind is Your Inventory Your inventory isn't filled with keys or crowbars. Instead, you collect social skills. You use these to interact with The Others but it’s not always successful. Using the wrong skill causes them to become aggressive, volatile, or offended. This, in turn, has a big effect on you. The Weight of Perception Your experience is governed by three shifting mental states: Overwhelm, Paranoia, and Dissociation. Too many negative interactions bring these to critical levels. They distort your perception, unlock different branches of the story, and can ultimately lead to dark endings. The Voice Within You aren't alone. An Alter Ego follows you around to amplify your biggest fears and anxieties. Don't trust everything it says. Three Realms Gameplay shifts between: - The Real World - a black & white society. They are unable to see color and can’t perceive how or why the protagonist is different but they view her as broken. In return, they all look the same to the protagonist as she suffers from face blindness and can't distinguish between individuals. - The protagonist's whimsical Inner World - The Nightmare World Features - A creepy, cute & disturbing point & click adventure - A story rich game about anxiety, perseverance, giving up or fighting back, the choice is yours - Multiple endings - Choices that matter - Overwhelm, Paranoia & Dissociation scores that distort your perception - An unreliable Alter-Ego - Hand painted and animated frame by frame - Original soundtrack - Ethically Crafted About the Developer Miss Self Destruct is a one-woman studio founded by Cami Cuibus in 2026. With over 10 years experience in the game dev industry, co-founder & artist at Stuck In Attic, she worked on titles such as Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure and Near-Mage. Hell Is Other People marks her debut as a solo developer. This game is deeply personal. It's inspired by my own experiences as an anxious, over-thinking little girl trying to find connection and acceptance. Every frame of animation was hand-painted by me, every line of dialogue written from the heart, and every note of the soundtrack composed to capture what it felt like to experience that.
