Your hero enters the playing field via the main fortress. Heroes can either fight and conquer villages, search for treasures, hunt monsters or occupy magical rune fields. When conquered, these runes trigger permanent boosts for your army. These last until another hero can conquer them. Heroes also provide many tactical options. For example, special hero units can be acquired in the main fortress or powerful special actions can be triggered. The playing field contains various terrains such as forests, mountains and lakes. Furthermore, there are towns, castles, harbours, strongholds, fortresses and more. These towns must be conquered and held by foot troops. This allows you to increase your gold income and recruit many different units. The heroes play a special role. They enter the playing field via your main fortress and can take part in the battle. They can also collect treasure chests, conquer powerful rune fields or fight creatures. If you have collected enough souls through battles, heroes can perform a particularly powerful special action to turn the battle in your favour. Only with tactical skill and foresight can you defeat the computer opponent or other players.
