Dead Rose is a hand-crafted 2D pixel art action-adventure, blending Metroidvania exploration with the soul of a Zelda-like — set in a world both grim and magical. Forget cozy games, cluttered interfaces, and endless cutscenes: here, you play, you explore, and every skill you unlock reshapes the way you play. A story inspired by my father's life, and my tribute to him through this project: 💀 Play as Lucky, a skeleton who wakes up in an isolated graveyard... standing before his own grave. Lost in the world of spirits, he has one goal: find Rose, the love of his life, and uncover the truth behind the occult ritual that brought him here. ⚔️ Combat & Progression - Ranged primary attack to fend off hordes of monsters - Secondary attack to trap enemies in bile when you're cornered - Level up and collect flames to strengthen your stats 🪱 The Annelid Form Regenerate health and mana by becoming more vulnerable than ever. But be careful: you might not like the truth... A personal tribute Dead Rose was born from a true story. My father, Luc, was bipolar. In 2022, after years of hardship, he took his own life. This game is my way of grieving — and honoring him through a medium I love: video games, capable of approaching death with poetry and lightness, without ever trivializing it.
