Alt Video - Personal Retro Video Store

Turn your collection into your own video store. Alt Video puts your movies, TV shows, games, watchlists and personal media onto the shelves of a nostalgic video store you can actually walk through. Browse the aisles. Pick up a case. Ask the clerk for a recommendation. Find something worth watching or playing tonight. BROWSE YOUR COLLECTION LIKE IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT AGAIN Walk past New Releases, explore genre aisles and browse physical cases instead of another endless grid. Your store is built from the entertainment you bring into Alt Video, so the shelves feel personal from the moment your collection arrives. PICK SOMETHING UP Grab a movie, show or game and inspect the case in your hands. Check the front, spine and back. See your own rating when one is available, understand where the title came from and find out how you can watch or play it. The goal is simple: make choosing something feel good again. STOP SCROLLING. PICK SOMETHING. Can't decide what to watch or play? Ask the clerk for something familiar, something unexpected, something short, or another suggestion grounded in your own collection. You get a few useful choices instead of another infinite recommendation feed. BRING WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE Alt Video is designed to meet your collection where it already lives. - Steam: bring supported games into the Games section and launch installed titles - Plex, Jellyfin and Emby: browse supported movies and TV shows from your personal media server - Letterboxd and Backloggd: import supported exports, watchlists, ratings and logs - Physical media: add DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, VHS tapes, cartridges and other titles by hand You do not need a separate Alt Video account. Movies, subscriptions and game licenses are not included. Alt Video also includes original starter titles so the store is never empty. MAKE IT YOUR VIDEO STORE Name the store and see that identity carried through the sign, membership card, receipt and bag. Arrange shelves, feature your favorites and change the atmosphere. Use Rewind Night to set the store to an earlier date and browse the parts of your collection that existed by then. PICK TOGETHER When supported multiplayer features are enabled, invite friends into the collection you choose to share. Browse cases together, put candidates on the table and decide what comes next. Alt Video does not stream your personal movies to other players. PLAY YOUR WAY Explore Alt Video on a monitor with keyboard and mouse or controller, or step inside the store with supported PC VR hardware. A VR headset is not required.
