‘RULES OF RESIDENCE’ is a simulation adventure game in which you take on the role of a member of the management committee. Rewrite the rules of your apartment block and pave your way to a better life... whatever the cost. The new home you’ve acquired for your family of three, financed by a 35-year mortgage, is a dictatorial apartment block run under the iron fist of its chairman. As a new mum elected to the committee, the future of the block rests in your hands. As a member of the management committee, you can make just one decision per week. Every turn takes place across a week of the residents' lives. The block is facing a mountain of problems, far too many for you to handle alone. Securing the residents' cooperation is key to fixing them. Rule with Authority The authority of the Residents’ Committee is absolute. No one can challenge your authority. Harass the residents you dislike, extort funds for your own use... none can stop you. Of course, the power that comes with domination is sweet, but it can also become a dangerous poison. When the residents' discontent reaches a boiling point, your reputation will be dragged through the mud. How you hold the reins is entirely up to you. Rewrite the Rules If you choose to, you may plan reforms together with the residents. However, the Board’s power is immense. Any flagrant acts will be crushed instantly. Take it slow, establishing new rules one by one and changing the residents’ lives. Gaining their cooperation is a long but just path. The law is not a chain that binds you. Shift your perspective, and it becomes your most reliable weapon. Fraying Minds The residents will judiciously watch your every move. They'll expect the world from you and bring unreasonable demands. But you aren't omniscient nor omnipotent. When the psychological burden you bear reaches its limit, your resolve will crumble. Yet it is also the connections you make that can heal that wounded spirit. Write your Ending Every step you take on this journey determines the future of the block. There is no one true ending. Whatever decisions you make, and their consequences, are yours and yours alone. The only certainty is that happiness will not come to those who merely wait. Rules of the Game ・You can only make one move every week, with a Board Meeting held at the end of every month. Spend your time wisely. ・If your spirit is brought to the brink and your time's run out, you'll break down. Game Over. ・Become an iron-fisted ruler or a benevolet leader. Your decisions pave your path toward an ending. ・Every action ripples across the block, eventually creating a cascade of countless possibilities.
