RPG1 is a single player post-apocalyptic retro-inspired roguelike party management roleplaying game with lots of other applicable superlatives, set in the not-so-distant future. In the post-corporate apocalypse, the planet is a devastated wasteland of toxic waste, flowing radioactive magma, and horribly disfigured mutant survivors and, of course, yourself, the lone wanderer exploring the life around your relatively undisturbed white farmhouse. The years of milking cow-bees and running from rampant gatorzillas have made you grow restless. You see a future in which you and a band of merry travelers head out on the road... and thus begins your quest to find out what the hell happened before yer pappy was born. They also innovated the way we played games, and were the jumping off points for the CRPG genre. There are a number of these modern throwback games, and Rancid Polluted Globe is one of them. Taking the style and sensibilities of the early days of roleplaying games, and combining modern themes and the brutal world of a post-apocalyptic landscape, RPG seeks to push the envelope in the retrospace.
