关于 Homemaking: Build & Decorate
A house, from the first wall
Homemaking starts with an empty lot and a one-metre grid. Drag a wall and it appears at full length. Click a wall and a real doorway is cut into it, with a frame, a lining and a threshold - not a hole. Add windows, arches, half-walls, railings, columns and panoramic openings. Room by room, a plan becomes a house you can walk into.
Finish it
Wallpaper goes on wall by wall, flooring cell by cell, and both palettes are drawn from the furniture set itself, so nothing ever clashes. Floorboards are laid as real rows - plank width, herringbone, a hairline seam - instead of one tiled photograph repeating across the room. Skirting boards mitre their own corners. Windows get a rail and two curtains. Doorways get an architrave.
Furnish it
1,000+ objects in 33 categories, from sofas down to the small things on the shelf. Search them, browse them by group, star the ones you keep coming back to. Place, rotate by 15 degrees or by one, scale, mirror, duplicate, stack anything on any horizontal surface - or switch clipping off and let things overlap on purpose.
Repaint an object in any colour, or pick a colour straight off something already standing in the room.
The game never tells you a sofa does not belong in the kitchen.
Light, and the time of day
Pull the clock slider and the light moves across the floor. Let it run and the day passes on its own, as fast or as slow as you like. Lamps come on at dusk and cast real shadows; a pendant lights the room under it instead of the ceiling above it. Three presets - day, evening, night - are one key away.
Live in it
Step inside and walk the house at eye level. Open doors, look up at your own ceiling, see a room the way someone standing in it would. Slice the walls away like a doll's house when you want the overview back. In photo mode, fly the camera, blur the background and take the shot.
Watch it get built
Every change you make is written into that house's own timeline. Play it back inside the game, with a free camera and a scrub bar, from empty lot to finished room.
