The Mandate is a political career simulation set in American politics. Hold elected office, choose an agenda, and build a career while rivals, staff, donors, and journalists pursue goals of their own. HOLD OFFICE. BUILD POWER. Use limited time and influence to pass legislation and serve your constituents. Raise money, protect your credibility, win reelection, and seek higher office. Decide which compromises you can defend when a donor demands a concession or an ally asks for political capital. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Shape policy and guide bills through committees and floor votes. - Build coalitions through trust and shared interests. - Trade favors or offer concessions to win support. - Hire staff and manage their loyalty and ambition. - Negotiate with lawmakers, donors, and party figures. - Face the press and answer opponents in your own words. - Track polls, serve your district, and run for reelection.
