In Steel Company, you will command a wide variety of infantry, armor, artillery, and more to overcome and destroy the enemy. The engine is built from the ground up for maximum combat fidelity and mod support. The game includes a highly competent and adaptive AI for fully offline single-player, as well as dedicated hosting for ranked and casual multiplayer modes. New and experienced wargamers alike will find Steel Company easy to pick up but deeply challenging to master. Single-Player Single-player features: - An AI opponent that is competent, cunning, and adaptive. The AI uses combined arms tactics including smoke, area fire, flanking, fortifications, reconnaissance, transports, and more. - Over a dozen hand-crafted scenarios, recreating historical WWII engagements from a variety of theaters. - Customizable randomly generated campaigns, as well as a selection of scripted historical campaigns. Troops gain experience and can be expanded and re-equipped between battles. - Customizable random battle map generation for skirmishes. - A powerful scenario editor, with the option to use real-world elevation and ground-cover data as a starting point to quickly create highly detailed battle maps. Multiplayer Multiplayer features: - Synchronous and asynchronous (PBEM-style) casual matches with mod support. - Matchmaking mode to instantly jump into a match with an opponent matching your skill level (even if it's your first time playing). Top players compete for ranks, climbing from Private all the way through General of the Army. - Secure dedicated hosting for maximum competitive integrity, for both casual and ranked modes. Combat Model The UI is designed to be simple enough for anyone to pick up and play in less than 5 minutes, but the combat model is also highly grounded and detailed. This allows for a huge variety of interesting tactical situations to naturally emerge in the course of battle.
