Stancefolio

No single technique defines a martial artist. No single path defines a journey. Stancefolio is a single-player, turn-based roguelike deckbuilder inspired by Chinese martial arts and ink-wash painting. Choose your fighter, combine martial arts cards, and shape a new fighting style as each journey unfolds. Six fighters. Six starting points. Sword, saber, twin daggers, fists, staff, or greatsword: each of the six fighters brings different starting attributes, a signature trait, and a starting deck. Build on their strengths or combine cards from different martial traditions to take a familiar fighter in a new direction. Make every move count Qi is the energy you spend to play cards, and you rarely have enough to do everything. Build Guard, prepare an opening, and decide when to commit to an attack. Explore defensive counterattacks, draw-and-discard combinations, or effects that exploit openings and deepen internal injuries. The order of your cards can turn a handful of techniques into a decisive sequence. Choose your path through an ink-painted landscape Follow a branching journey map through battles, encounters, rest stops, and card upgrades. Decide what your current deck needs before taking the next step. Choose a Medium Journey or set out on a longer Large Journey, with stronger enemies and bosses in its later stages. The rest of the road is yours to uncover. Forge a deck for this journey Battle rewards and encounters give you opportunities to add cards, upgrade key techniques, and alter their costs or effects. Some improvements ask you to sacrifice health. Weigh each offer against the deck you are building and the battles still ahead. Carry your discoveries into the next chapter Complete a journey to earn Legacy Points. If an enemy defeats you after you have beaten one or more bosses, those victories also earn points at the end of the run. Spend them in Legacy of the Arts to unlock themed chapters, adding new cards to the pool available in future journeys.
