You are LOST in Open Waters
Open Waters is a first-person ocean survival horror game. Stranded in a small boat, you must navigate treacherous waters, evade creatures of the deep, and find your way back to safety before the ocean drags you into its depths.
Explore the Uncharted
The ocean is vast and full of terrors. Use a range of tools, including your trusty Compass and Handheld Sonar Device, to find your way. With minimal maps and waypoints to guide you, you must chart your own path using whatever information you can find: a note, a direction, a sound, or maybe even a star.
Discover Haunted Locations
The ocean is scattered with abandoned sites. They may hold clues to how you can escape to safety, but years of isolation have twisted these places into haunted terrors and exploring them comes with risk. These areas expand the horror beyond the open water, forcing you to face threats on both land and sea.
Avoid the Creatures of the Deep
The unexplored depths hide unimaginable terrors. Those terrors have risen to the surface and you must do everything to avoid becoming their prey. Use your tools to track their movements and consider cutting the engine if you are making too much noise. Stay calm, stay quiet, and you may live long enough to see land again.
Do NOT fall into the water
And above all else, do not fall into the water. That is their domain.
Game Features
- Unparalleled Ocean Horror Experience: Experience an unparalleled simulation of being lost in the vast ocean. Dynamic weather, unpredictable waves, dense fog, realistic physics, an atmospheric ocean soundscape, and lurking threats combine to create this immersive ocean horror experience.
- Immersive and Minimalist: With minimal UI and no mini-map, navigation depends on your ability to read and interact with the world around you. Chart your course with a compass, follow a star in the sky, listen for distant sounds, and use every clue the ocean gives you.
- Thalassophobia Warning: The ocean is vast and terrifying. You are small and fragile in comparison. This horror game will undoubtedly terrify those with a fear of deep bodies of water.
- Upgrade Your Boat and Tools To Survive: Gather resources and technology to upgrade your Boat and Tools, improving your chances of survival in the open ocean.
- Unravel An Ecosystem: The creatures of the deep have their own pecking order. Do not assume the monster hunting you is the greatest threat in these Open Waters.
- Game Length: The game is relatively short, and should be completable in around 2-4h.
