Mäntykoski, October 1992. The depression is at its worst. The mill has laid off half the town, and the Salmela farm is behind on its loan. Kari and Janne take a small job from a man with a shady past. By morning a man is dead, their father's shotgun turns up in the brothers' van, and the police are already in the yard. The Hautakorpit did the killing. The brothers do the time.
For six years the brothers watch from behind the walls as the gang grows. New members turn up on their block, someone tries to kill them in the prison workshop, and news comes from outside that neither of them wanted to hear. In the summer of 1998 they are released on parole. The Hautakorpit now run the countryside, dealing drugs, moonshine and protection from town to town. The brothers set out to collect what they are owed.
Framed is a first-person co-op shooter with a PS1-era look. The story is dark, the mood isn't: bodies fly, motorcycles explode, and a carefully laid plan turns into a messy firefight in seconds.
Town by town
Revenge takes the brothers across the countryside of southern Finland, from one town to the next. Summer turns to autumn and autumn to winter, and the further they go, the closer they get to the men who run the gang.
Houses, yards and cars
The game is built true to its time: the houses, buildings and cars are the ones you would have seen in 1990s Finland.
The snow turns red
Assault rifle, shotgun, pistol, meat cleaver and more. Every hit has weight: bodies fly wherever the shot throws them, and a motorcycle you shoot takes the ones parked next to it when it blows.
Two brothers
Play together in split screen or online. A downed brother gets hauled back to his feet, ammo and supplies are shared out as the plan needs. Playing alone, the computer controls the other brother.
Farm defense
Alongside the campaign there is an endless mode. Hold the Salmela farm against the gang, wave after wave, each one harder than the last. You start with nothing but meat cleavers and take better weapons off the fallen. After every wave you pick a new perk, and your best runs go on the scoreboard.
