Deflection-based combat The combat of False Princess Iruruu revolves around the risks and rewards of deflection. Guard right before an attack and you will deflect it, redirecting damage onto the enemies' poise. Guard too late or too early, and you risk taking damage to your poise and health. Special Attacks & Counters However, not everything can be deflected. Certain attacks require special responses. Hooks, grabs, shockwaves, and other forms of unique attacks have to be dealt with using specific moves and timing. Choosing mercy Combat encounters with foes can also end non-lethally. When an enemy's poise is broken, a sword attack will instantly kill them. However, deflecting an attack from an enemy in this vulnerable state will disarm them. You may choose the path of mercy, but be aware that your enemies won't always return the favor.
