About Curtains The Clown is a compact 2D adventure with multiple possible outcomes. Use simple platforming mechanics like wall jumps and double jumping to guide Curtains through a treacherous world in search of a way to continue (or end) his journey. Hidden away in seemingly unreachable places are 6 items that hold the keys to various exits. Find and bring an item to its corresponding NPC/world object to discover what fate will become of our clown friend. The Plot An alien life form who inexplicably resembles a rather scary looking clown. Curtains was exiled from his home planet and forced to find somewhere else to call his own. While passing through a distant galaxy, his ship had run out of fuel, requiring an emergency landing on a nearby planet called Truculentia. Now stranded in a far away world, Curtains must find fuel for his ship and return to space, but perhaps there is another way to continue his journey... or meet his end before it even begins? "Grim" for the developer intended challenge - 6 possible endings - Featuring music by Said The Dreamer Developer's note For the last 30+ years, It has been my dream to make and release my own game. On September 16 2023, I began a learn-as-I-go process for making a 2D game in Unreal Engine using the Curtains character. Curtains The Clown is the result of finally living my dream despite my complete lack of game development knowledge and/or skills. It is my hope that it inspires others to start their own journey and make their own games as well. If a clown like me can do it without any previous experience (or AI,) you can do it too!
