While the heroes begin the adventure in a traditional high fantasy setting, they continue through the portals to unpredictable worlds: a bizarre biome, a post-apocalyptic ruin, a remote asteroid mining operation... Do you have what it takes to survive this quest into the unknown? - Pick your starting force roster of four heroes - Select a powerful relic that amplifies your force and can fundamentally change your strategy, and adapt your build as you acquire more relics from boss drops, secrets, and shops - Choose between encounters to prioritize battle, loot, rest, or restocking supplies as you progress between fixed story beats - Step through a portal to another world from a pool of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror settings each with their own stories, creatures, characters, and environmental mechanics - Push yourself to reach challenging milestones that unlock characters and relics for future runs - Master a nostalgic turn-based combat system with a grid-based battle map and head-to-head action sequences - Outmaneuver your opponents on the complex terrain of obstacles, cover, hazards, and planetary effects - Control up to eight characters in battle, leveraging their unique defenses, spells, and special attacks - Protect your party leader or face annihilation! - Recruit new heroes, enlist hirelings, and summon spawns to expand your force - Level up your characters as they earn combat experience, increasing their base stats and unlocking new spells and special abilities - Unlock powerful promotions for veteran heroes that fundamentally shift their class abilities - Conserve your resources carefully, as hit points and mana are not restored between encounters, slowly wearing down your force
