The (Other)World Syndrome is a story-driven adventure game about people worn down by the anxieties of modern life—an uncertain future, endless competition, constant comparison, and the pressure to prove themselves every day.
One day, just as the protagonist is ready to give up on everything, they receive a mysterious invitation to the OtherWorld Library. Following it as an escape from reality, they arrive at a magical library where countless OtherWorlds await.
Each world offers a life that seems impossible to achieve in reality: becoming a beloved duke, the world's most celebrated actor, and countless other dreamlike destinies.
But is the OtherWorld truly a place of happiness? And can someone who has run away from reality really find the happiness they have been searching for?
By contrasting this world with the OtherWorld, The (Other)World Syndrome invites players to reflect on what happiness truly means—and why we long to escape reality in the first place.
