What's a Rebounder?
On a remote lunar worksite, valuable resources from an ancient age flow underfoot, and shareholders demand extraction. Contract workers fly-in and fly-out; blue collar labourers from around the galaxy all trekking to the edges of civilization for the next gig.
A Rebounder runs lines. They pull up their boots each day and speed through hazardous terrain to deliver precious cargo from point A to point B by any means necessary. It’s the gnarliest trade in the universe.
One cold night, a fledgling Rebounder pulls into town looking for work...
Gameplay
Grab, throw, and bounce off alien flora and fauna to deliver your line to its destination. Nail precise combos of trickshots, ricochets, and wall slides to finish the run.
Weave through exploding spores, razor thorns, dodgy scaffolding, hallucinogenic fluids, and gnashing gates. Utilize the tools-of-the-trade (detachable jetpacks, ‘zookas, and some perfectly healthy looking fish) to complete your objectives.
Levels are fast, replayable, and satisfying. Certain areas hide secret platforming challenges for the real sickos.
Rebounder is a love letter to the platforming gameplay pioneered by speedrunners and kaizo creators. Rapid respawns, unlimited attempts, and carefully tuned controls make daunting-looking challenges surprisingly approachable.
Ink and Noise
Made four inks at a time. Rebounder draws inspiration from vintage sci-fi comics, zines, and the world of physical print — Ben Day dots, misregistration, ink-bleed, and paper.
Synth-punk melodies, fuzzy drums, intercepted transmissions, and musical sound design turn your movements into music.
