No Way Back: Dark Horizon

You wake up on an island. Beside you, your young son; around you, a cursed world you've never seen before. This is a first-person survival horror game about keeping him alive. You have no memory of how you got here — only the small hand gripping yours feels real. From that moment on, everything comes down to one thing: keeping your son alive. Feeding him, protecting him, keeping him safe shapes every step you take — how far you wander, when you stand your ground and when you run. It doesn't take long to realize this island is no ordinary place; something stirs in the dark, and when night falls the island turns into something else entirely, something far darker. As you fight to stay alive, you also chase the truth of how you got here and the secret this island keeps. You're all he has to hold on to. He's your only reason to survive. Game Features - Protect Your Son: Everything here begins with him. Watch his hunger and health; tell him to follow when danger nears, have him wait, or hide him somewhere safe. Lose him, and nothing else you've gathered means a thing. - The Weight of Survival: Hunger, exhaustion, dwindling supplies... nothing on this island comes for free. Every small decision brings you both a step closer to morning, or one step deeper into the dark. - Fight to Defend: Whatever you can get your hands on — a bow, a club, an old pistol. But ammo is scarce and every encounter can cost you. More often than not, the smartest move is to never be seen at all. - Hunt to Survive: Track your prey through the island's forests and harvest meat and leather from what you bring down. Hunger doesn't only gnaw at you, it weakens your son too. (Hunting will expand with more animal types in the full release.) - Gather & Craft: Chop down trees, stockpile wood and stone, and turn raw materials into something useful. Build small structures into a shelter you can hide in — because when the night outside turns merciless, those four walls are all you have. - Fear the Dark: Daytime is a brief window to prepare. But once the sun goes down, the island turns entirely against you; creatures begin to prowl silently through the dark. With your son at your side and a trembling flashlight in hand, every step outside is a gamble. - Explore & Investigate: Roam every corner of the island, step inside abandoned structures, and follow the clues to how you got here and the secret this island keeps. Every answer brings a new question with it. - Full Controller Support: Play comfortably with keyboard and mouse or a gamepad — the controls are entirely yours.
