My Death as a Duchess is a survival game where the player embodies a duchess who takes control of a cursed duchy. The game combines narrative and strategy, alternating between phases of managing the duchess's schedule and the unfolding of her day in the form of a graphic novel. Schedule management The player can decide whether to send the Duchess to classes, arrange interviews with various characters, or have her explore the castle. They also have access to the Duchess's logbook, which contains information she has gathered over the past few days. Some slots are already reserved for special events such as the Welcome Ball and the Opera Evening. Daily Routine Each day unfolds according to the previously chosen schedule, in the form of a graphic novel. Different dialogue options may be available depending on the scenario, leading to different paths. The castle tours show an image of the location visited in which it will be possible to interact with different objects. The player can thus collect certain objects that can be useful during certain scenarios. Objectives The Duchess will experience life-threatening scenarios. Depending on the player's choices, she can survive or die. In the event of death, the Duchess returns to Day 1, with her memories intact. The dangers she will face are mostly due to a curse that hangs over her duchy. The player's objective is to help the Duchess survive until the day she succeeds in lifting the curse on the duchy.
