Deep within the Fabled Forest, Lyra the songstress was venturing back to her homeland but she is then ambushed by the Wolfskin twins, Luna and Lune. Her basket was taken by them and so Lyra sets off on a journey to reclaim her lost belongings. Venture across the land of Clerica in this 2D Platformer with Metroidvania esque exploration. Areas shift between 2D sidescroller and top-down adventure which broaden the non-linearity of this experience. Combat is seamless with a nimble Twirl and bosses offer a great challenge that is much like the Soulslikes of today. Z: Confirm / Attack X: Cancel / Jump C: Twirl A: Spell Menu S: Left Swap D: Right Swap Enter: Pause (Control bindings can be remapped in game for both keyboard and controller.) Twirl (C by default): Lyra performs a nimble twirl that is able to evade attacks from enemies. This move can be used during Lyra's grounded attacks. Sprint (Keep C held down after a Twirl): Lyra enters a run state that is faster than her usual walk speed. Power Cut (Keep Z held down after an attack): Strength is concentrated into a single attack with more range and damage. Charge is lost upon getting hit. Cast (Up + Attack): Magic Points (MP) are used to perform a magical attack with Lyra's current Spell. Use Left Swap and Right Swap (S and D by default) to switch between Spells. Dive (Down + Jump while in midair): Lyra quickly descends to the ground, this move is able to jump on enemies and deal damage. Dive Jump: Diving onto a slope and then pressing Jump will preserve Lyra's sliding speed until she lands on the ground. Guard Crush: Using a Power Cut or an Spell against a shielded enemy will dispel their protection and leave them vulnerable to melee Attacks. Lyra is able to cast a variety of Spells with her harp once they are obtained. These abilities include ranged attacks such as a stream of butterflies as well as self-buffs that increase Lyra's jump height and run speed. The amount of MP used correlates to a Spell's magic tier. Spells are learned by finding one of the seven Maidens throughout Lyra's journey. The effective of Spells can also be raised by leveling up Lyra's Magic stat once she finds a Guiding Butterfly. Within the Settings Menu of the main menu is a distinct feature that applies a palette of 4 colors onto the game to alter the visual experience. Choose between 19 different color palettes, including 4 iconic retro palettes. Along with this is an alternative 8-bit soundtrack to complement the pixel aesthetic.
