Die and Decay is a dark fantasy dice-placement roguelike where your Hero and your city live or die together. Begin with three dice and a small town of cards, then build the combinations that can carry you through a gauntlet of medieval horrors.
Every die has competing demands. Put it toward a killing blow, keep your people fed, or invest in a stronger next encounter. A brilliant combat plan means nothing if the city collapses behind you.
Make a few dice do a lot
Keep the faces you need, risk a reroll, or use earned transmutations to change your luck. Stack matching dice on Hero and Building cards for rewards over several turns. Your full dice pool returns each round, while committed stacks keep producing as they decay. Check the forecast before you commit, and squeeze another turn of survival from a roll that looked hopeless.
Turn your town into a chain reaction
Upgrade your Hero and Buildings to awaken their powers. Match their Crests to send a call branching through your town, triggering extra production and charging your Hero's signature Combo Attack. Arrange advanced Buildings beside the right neighbors for even bigger rewards. Build the chain, then choose when to unleash your Combo.
Every victory changes your build
Between monsters, catch a brief reprieve: choose one of three new Building cards, advance your Hero or a Building by one tier, and refit a town of up to six Buildings. Specialize in a few powerful cards or spread your upgrades across a wider network. Spend your hard-earned resources on more dice, extra rerolls, and stronger transmutations.
The city is your other health bar
Horrors poison stores, profane shrines, and wear down your workers. Protect Provisions, Rites, and Labor: lose any one, and the run ends. Learn each enemy's pressure, adapt your priorities, and survive five encounters before facing the Pale Sovereign.
One victory. A new way to play.
Start as the Knight and defeat the final boss to unlock another Hero for future runs. Work toward a roster of 24 Heroes, discovering new dice strategies, starting towns, and signature Combo Attacks along the way. Different enemy lineups and Building offers give you new combinations to chase each run.
