A World of Decay and Disease In Asthenia, you take on the role of Adam, an ordinary man who has experienced a tragic life event and is now stranded in an otherworldly dimension. This dimension is ravaged by a strange disease and filled with seemingly deserted towns, ruins, temples, industrial areas, and other haunting places. These lands are ruled by ancient entities engaged in a mysterious war, and you will have to uncover the reason for their conflict. Additionally, you must solve the mystery behind the enigmatic origin of the rotting disease that slowly consumes everything. However, there are also other dark and disturbing inhabitants roaming this dimension, and they will hunt you down. Encounter them, as well as other tortured souls that exist in the world of Asthenia, and try to escape unharmed. What Will Your Fate Be? Game Features Explore the Decaying Lands: Explore atmospheric and mysterious locations on the ground and at higher elevations, discovering hidden items, resources, keys, journals, upgrades, and weapons. Encounter your Foes: Engage in close-range combat using the ancient Gauntlet and a secondary secret weapon as your primary means of defense. The Ancient Gauntlet: A sacred relic with the ability to interact with specific environmental objects and used in combat as a melee weapon. Survive the Odds: In this world, search for limited-use health and gauntlet energy pools to fight back and survive. Multiple Fight Methods: Close combat is not your only option. Use traps and other destructible environment objects to battle and defeat your foes. Dynamic Enemies Count and Difficulty: Encounter and overcome common enemies, or discover tougher hidden foes and bosses that will test your skills and offer rewards or penalties. Boss Fights: Encounter epic-scale bosses and some Secret, sub-optional ones. Secret Gauntlet Parts and Player Upgrades: Discover how to unlock the Gauntlet's full potential and obtain player upgrades. Lead the Fallen Guardians: Find the tombs of the ancient guardians and awaken them to fight alongside you. Split Ways: At a certain point, you must select a path that will determine the story's outcome and present various challenges. The Mysteries of the Land: Uncover the reasons behind the war, the corrupting disease, and the origins and mysteries of the inhabitants through scattered notes, paintings, voiceovers, and other clues. Your Story Ends in 3 Different Ways: There isn't just one way to conclude this story. Your actions and choices throughout your journey will determine your fate. An Unforgiving World Asthenia is a challenging adventure game that doesn't offer mini-maps or quest markers. This means you'll need to rely on your observations and various tactics to progress, as the game doesn't hold your hand. ABOUT US Hello everyone! I am Manthos, an Industry artist and the solo developer of Asthenia, which is my first game. I only recently had a new, Co-Dev join the project. I began working on this game in 2019, following some significant and devastating life events that inspired and prompted me to start this project. My goal was to develop a deeply personal story and interactive experience that explores both dark and hopeful themes within an immersive world.
