But this is much more than a traditional dating simulator: here, you have total control over what you say. Independent Engineering: Our Own Custom Engine To create a game with these characteristics, the available game engines (such as Unreal, Ren'Py, or Unity) are not suitable. We needed absolute control over memory and multithreaded parallel processing capabilities to load videos in real time while dynamically generating text. Therefore, at Soul Shell, we developed our own engine, the RetroSense Engine, from scratch using C++ and the following open-source libraries: - SFML for multimedia management. - llama.cpp for the efficient execution of local Large Language Models (LLMs). - Dear ImGui for a clean and optimized development interface.
