When the dead cross the River Lethe, every memory of the life they lived is washed away. But those memories are not gone. When a new soul stands trial, the memories of those who knew them in life—and crossed the river before them—rise to the surface. Those they loved. Those they hated. Those who were mere acquaintances. Within those memories remain parts of the accused's life they never chose to reveal. The dead who stand trial in the Underworld must recount the life they have lived and defend themselves in their own words. “I lived a virtuous life.” “I had no other choice.” “I am not guilty.” However, a trial cannot be decided on testimony alone. You are Dikaion. You are able to see the memories that rise from the River Lethe. Look beyond the accused's testimony. Piece together what truly happened through the memories left behind, and prove their guilt before the gods. But your duty does not end with uncovering their guilt. You must reveal the true weight of that guilt and argue for the judgment it deserves. That is the role of Dikaion. Three judges await in the court of the dead. They weigh the accused's testimony based upon the memories you uncover, determine the weight of their guilt, and decide the fate of their soul. It began like all the others. The accused recounted his life, and the memories appeared one after another. His guilt seemed clear. Only the verdict remained. Then, just before judgment was passed, one of the judges spoke. “Wait.” . . With that single word, a trial that should have ended begins again. As the trial resumes, the truth the accused had kept hidden begins to arise piece by piece. And it overturns everything you thought had already been decided. His guilt had seemed undeniable. Until a truth emerged that could change the verdict. Once every truth has been brought to light, the final decision is yours. Your choice will lead this trial to one of two different endings. - Reconstruct events from fragments of memory. How many people were there? Who was present? What happened—and in what order? Connect the fragments of memory that can prove the accused's guilt, then match the right people and actions to the water of recollection to conclude the case. - Look beyond the accused's testimony. Uncover their guilt, and prove its weight. Use the memories left behind by the dead to uncover the wrongdoing the accused chose not to reveal, then present the reconstructed memories as evidence to show the three judges the true weight of that guilt. - The final judgment is yours.
