What they uncover, however, turns out to be a catastrophe incarnate. Facing extinction, nations and corporations form a temporary alliance to resist Gaia. Decades later, the player awakens as an experimental candidate for “Anima,” a pilot of the next-generation weapon system known as Gigas, and takes their first step into this age of chaos.
