Gateholt is a 1-4 player co-op horror game about entering cursed places and erasing the marks an evil spirit has left behind. Erase every mark and the spirit loses its hold on the place and disappears. There is just one problem — it will not let you work. YOUR JOB Scrub away dried bloodstains, erase marks carved into the walls, burn cursed objects — 14 kinds of purification work, and counting. Each task needs a different tool. What you bring is decided before you step inside. ERASING MAKES IT WORSE Every mark you erase drives the Spirit Influence down, and the lower it drops, the harder the spirit hunts you. As the Influence nears the bottom, servants wake — and the spirit itself goes on a rampage. You have no weapon against something this fast, agile, and relentless — buy time with talismans and items, and slip out of its sight. Progress and danger are the same meter. NO TWO NIGHTS ARE THE SAME Which evil spirit haunts the place, and which servants will wake, you cannot know until the Gate opens. The spirit and the servants that wake each interfere in their own way — flooding rooms with fog, trading places with the dominant spirit, closing in the moment you look away. What worked last time may not work tonight. SCARY ALONE, LOUD TOGETHER Splitting up is faster. But when things go wrong, the only ones who can save you — with a talisman, with an item — are your teammates. And if it is too late for that, carry your fallen teammate's heart to the Revival Circle. It is not over yet. IF YOU MAKE IT OUT Spend your pay upgrading your abilities and dressing up your character. And if you cannot finish, you can close the Gate and walk out. No pay — but you walk out.
