You earn "Neutronium" for every fusion. You use this to buy upgrades, get auto-clickers, and unlock heavier elements on the periodic table. As you progress, the mechanics expand. Atoms start fusing with each other for bigger rewards. Random cosmic events like Pulsars, White Holes, and Wormholes will appear, rewarding you with rare resources like Dark Matter and Antimatter. Once your progress slows down, you can collapse the universe to gain permanent upgrades and start your next run much faster. There are no confusing storylines, forced tutorials, or stressful mechanics.
