關於 EVILGARD
The feeling of an MMORPG - without needing other players
EVILGARD is a single-player fantasy RPG that brings the progression, party dynamics, and freedom of classic MMORPGs into an adventure designed to be played entirely on your own.
Fight using traditional spell hotbars rather than twitch-heavy action combat, gain experience and equipment, develop your character through classes and specializations, and gradually assemble a permanent party of story companions.
Your companions are more than simple pets. They take on familiar MMO roles such as tank, healer, damage dealer, and support, react autonomously during combat, and form a genuine adventuring party around your character.
Your class. Your progression.
Choose a base class, invest skill points, and develop your character through dedicated class quests.
Later questlines lead into further specializations and subclasses — such as the Necromancer — earned through their own stories instead of simply being selected from a menu.
Equipment, abilities, rare drops, and different builds make long-term character progression a central part of the adventure.
A world worth getting distracted in
Not every play session has to advance the main story.
Explore caves and dungeons, hunt for hidden treasure, discover unusual locations, collect shinies, complete collections, or simply leave the obvious path to find out what's hiding beyond it.
Dynamic encounters may appear along the way. Merchants can get into trouble, unexpected events can unfold, and small stories may begin that have absolutely nothing to do with what you originally set out to accomplish.
Quests are not designed to constantly put you under artificial time pressure. If you'd rather spend an hour gathering materials or following a suspicious trail through the forest, you are free to do exactly that.
Gather, trade, and craft
The world of EVILGARD is meant to stay busy even when you are not fighting.
Gather resources through harvesting and farming, craft items and equipment, and interact with different outposts and merchants.
Autonomous gatherers, craftsmen, and traders can carry out their own tasks, acquire resources, manufacture goods, and move items through the world.
Trade between different outposts also plays a role, helping regions feel like connected parts of the same world rather than isolated quest hubs.
Dungeons, loot, and classic MMO logic
Enter caves and dungeons, fight regular enemies, elites, and bosses, and hunt for rare items and abilities.
EVILGARD takes classic MMORPG systems seriously.
Their logic?
Not always.
Why does a wolf carry coins?
Where exactly was that rat keeping a legendary helmet?
And why has that merchant apparently been standing in the same spot for twenty years, waiting specifically for you?
Some questions are probably better left unanswered.
A serious fantasy world that occasionally becomes completely absurd
EVILGARD is not a pure parody. Its characters take their world, its dangers, and its stories seriously.
The humor comes from situations, familiar RPG clichés, and the strange rules players have accepted without question for decades.
Only the narrator is allowed to occasionally break the fourth wall - and sometimes he appears to know considerably more about video games than anyone living in EVILGARD reasonably should.
Sometimes the rules suddenly change
EVILGARD deliberately plays with the history of video games.
A puzzle may temporarily transform the RPG into a 1990s-style point-and-click adventure. A particular boss encounter may suddenly follow a completely different set of rules. Other moments pay homage to older genres without requiring you to know the original inspiration.
These genre shifts are deliberately kept as special surprises.
EVILGARD remains an RPG at heart — but you should never be completely certain what is waiting behind the next door.
