Embark on a whimsically dark journey to rescue your dearest friend, the Blacksmith. In Across Unbeaten Paths, you’ll brave a mysterious land, face eerie foes, and manage your items in creative ways—all to bring back home someone you care about. The grid shape-fitting system commonly used for inventories in other games becomes a core feature here, but with a twist— it is the battlefield. Across Unbeaten Paths combines the variability of rogue-like deck builders with the spatial strategy of inventory management systems. All cards have only one condition to be played— do they fit on the field? But you'll still need to think carefully about where, how and what you place. Each battle is a different puzzle. Solve problems with what you’ve got. Adapt, strategize, and make smart use of each draw to get as far as you can. Your cards can have unique effects—stack them, chain them, and create satisfying combos. But also be aware of your enemy's cards, they can influence your items as well. Pick from five tiny critters, each with distinct personalities, cards, skills, and storylines. Every character offers an unique playstyle and brings something new to your adventure. - The Rabbit Knight - Fill the field with as many weapons and armor as possible; - The Mouse Rogue - Steal, hide and cheat your way to victory; - The Fox Ranger - Master the environment and use the field itself to your advantage; - The Owl Wizard - Chain your magic together to empower your attacks; - The Beaver Smith - Combine materials to craft your items mid battle. Encounter a diverse cast of strange creatures—some will challenge you with their own decks and tactics, others will help you on your journey. The forest is full of perils... but you’re not alone. Progress. Die. Learn. Adapt. Unlock new cards, skills, characters and paths with each run—building a stronger strategy with every try.
