關於 12 Abroad St.
12 Abroad St is a solo textual adventure game for PC set in a present and urban setting. The game draws from retro textual RPG and has the ambition to transpose it with the present standards.
You play as Charlie, you’re in your late 20s and come back to your childhood hometown, Seaforth, to attend a high school's alumni party. you have failed in everything you have undertaken and hoped for by leaving Seaforth and what you had here. This seaside city smells just like the fish cannery that dominates it: a mixture of metal, herring and bland existence. It's January, and the city is empty of the few rare fragments of life it gains in summer.
In other words, you don't want to be here nor feel like going to this party. At least on this last matter, you still have control, what will you decide ?
In 12 Abroad St. you will explore Seaforth going from location to location. Each location is represented by a frame, fully rendered in ASCII, with a fixed camera and a textual description. Wander through your hometown, stumble upon strange places and meet... peculiar people. Here, your possible actions are decided by verbs that you can find and store in your inventory, but that you can also merge together to create new ones, and thus more possibilities. Will you Touch the Window ? Flirt with the Tree ? Open the Dog ? It’s up to you.
Each verb will produce a different outcome, and the player will be rewarded for their experimentation with narrative elements, or alternative ways of resolving certain situations.
