Sandburied

Sandburied is a relaxing pixel-art idle sandbox that can play entirely on its own, but you can also take control and play yourself at any time. Leave the worm to explore while you work, study, watch something, or simply relax. It chooses destinations, searches for new paths, burrows through sand, climbs walls, crosses caves, takes occasional detours, uncovers buried objects, and rests when it becomes tired. Whenever you feel like playing, take control instantly. Guide the worm yourself, explore specific areas, dig new tunnels, use items, search for treasures, or travel deeper into the world. Switch freely between active play and autonomous Idle Mode whenever you want. Turn Sandburied into a small transparent jar that lives directly on your desktop. Choose from different jar sizes and keep the worm beside your other windows while it continues exploring independently. Open the full game whenever you want to play directly, check the map, manage discoveries, use items, or guide the worm toward a new destination. Then return it to the jar and let its journey continue on its own. Every world is procedurally generated and filled with physically simulated sand, winding tunnels, hidden chambers, and distinct underground biomes. The worm can burrow through loose sand, crawl along walls and ceilings, leap across gaps, and discover routes through places it has never visited before. Sand shifts, falls, and collapses as the world changes around it. Deep beneath the surface, the worm discovers the remains of human life: discarded objects, broken possessions, plastic, metal, electronics, and forgotten valuables. One hundred unique objects are buried throughout the earth. By uncovering them one by one, the worm slowly reveals how deeply human waste has entered the natural world. Sandburied carries a quiet environmental message: even far below the surface, a tiny creature must live among the things humanity has thrown away. The slow, calming soundtrack changes dynamically with the worm’s surroundings. Biomes, depth, nearby plants, creatures, crystals, objects, and usable items introduce different instruments and musical layers.
