Rover’s Radventure: The New Millennium is a deck-builder turn-based comedy RPG. As Rover, the player can explore a cozy, tropical island filled with mysteries and oddities that only lead to more questions as they slowly unfold. Using items, weapons and unique spells, represented by cards, the player can build themselves a powerful deck to lay waste to their enemies, traverse a land jam-packed with a colorful cast of creatures, and maybe learn a life lesson or two along the way. After a traumatic event in his past left the bright eyed and bushy tailed puppy a cynical, apathetic and emotionally closed off introvert, Rover attempts to lead an average life as a fully-grown adult. Dating, hanging out with friends at the bar, working as a park ranger… however, that all changes during a routine delivery route where strange truths come to light, a bizarre conspiracy begins to unfold, and Rover’s simple island life is completely upended as he gets wrapped up in a scheme that may be far more personal than he could have ever imagined… Explore a dynamic, living, breathing world filled with dozens and dozens of quirky characters and sidequests aplenty! With new things to find every day, even wandering around aimlessly could lead to wacky, creepy or even emotional moments. Help townsfolk with their day to day needs while trying to uncover the big mystery of what’s really going on on this island on your own. Craft your own unique deck of zany cards, each with unique sprites and animations! Discover overpowered synergies to get the upper hand on your foes! With gajillions of combinations of cards, you’re bound to find a playstyle perfect for you! With over 250 unique cards scattered all throughout the land, can you collect em all? A curious fungus is appearing to coat the island, and scientists don’t seem to know what it could be. Investigate the strange happenings on the island: Why are some animals feral and hostile? What’s with the strange, erratic weather? Who’s behind the recent disappearances of islanders? Can Rover figure out what’s going on before it’s too late? The game has an entirely hand-drawn look, with everything you see on screen made by one artist who’s hand is sore as hell after doing all that. All the writing, animation, artwork, character design, mechanics and coding was done by nothing more than the hands and brains of talented individuals without the use of generative AI to create anything.
