The Copperfield Department

The Copperfield Department is a text-based puzzle game where players take over the role of a social media detective. As tasked by Big Business Inc., a company controlling the country, your job is to hunt for social media accounts that could prove harmful to their image. The next step is to expose the person hiding behind the account and holding them accountable. The game plays inside your office, which contains a computer used for gathering information and a pinboard to sort your thoughts. Gameplay The basic gameplay loop consists of gathering information relevant to a case, bringing it in order and deducing the identity of the culprit. The first tool for this is the computer, on which the player gets their tasks and accesses social media and a list of suspects. The second component is the office’s pinboard, which allows players to pin people as well as social media users and posts and to make connections between them.
