Among the materials is a photograph of Class 2-3—and a handwritten message you cannot remember leaving: “This time, don’t leave out the answer.” The 31st Student is a first-person psychological horror game about exclusion, unreliable memory, and the cost of bearing witness. Explore a deserted Japanese high school, trace a missing student through records that contradict one another, and confront the parts of the past that someone tried to leave behind. An old recording preserves a breath after the final name. A photograph disagrees with the attendance register. And the more you uncover about Aoi Mizushima, the harder it becomes to trust the evidence—or your own memories. Explore the school in a semi-open investigation. Examine documents, photographs, and audio recordings, and solve puzzles rooted in the school’s history. As dusk gives way to night, the school changes with it. Familiar spaces become harder to trust.
