GOLF’S FUTURE, ON PAPER Par Under Review is a turn-based dice-golf roguelike set in the 1920s and 1930s during golf’s Golden Age, when hickory shafts are giving way to steel, mashies and niblicks to numbered irons and specialist wedges, and the modern bag is taking shape. You test courses on hex-grid blueprints, using cards and dice to simulate a golfer’s performance. It’s a game about visible risks, considered decisions, and the peculiar satisfaction of making a difficult line add up. READ THE COURSE. Compare possible landings and their probabilities, choose your approach, and decide how much risk a better score is worth. There is no swing meter and no test of reflexes.
