You find yourself trapped in the Madlum Vault, a twisting labyrinth where even light has gone mad. Take control of your vessel to fight through waves of vicious bullet hell, collect powerful upgrades to overcome the increasing pressure and face your rivals head-on in fearsome boss battles. With enough mastery you may be able to finally break free from the Vault. Choose your Vessel. There are eight playable vessels each with a unique play-style. Consume your enemies to steal their life for your own, dance and weave between bullets to charge up devastating bombs, or let a brain parasite handle all your aiming for you. The pressure is rising. As you progress through the stages the pressure will rise making enemy attacks become more and more aggressive but rewards also become more abundant. The pressure can be mitigated by bombing and will lower if you die too many times, use this to keep things from getting too overwhelming. However, if you want a shot at reaching the end of the labyrinth you'll need to get the pressure into the red zone. Use everything you can to your advantage. Acquire upgrades at the end of each stage that will augment your power and reshape the way you play throughout a run. Build up resources to ensure long-term survival against the rising pressure, tear your enemies apart with a variety of weapons and familiars and overwhelm bosses with powerful upgraded bombs. There may even be some hidden upgrades to find in the middle of stages if you can discover the right methods. Carve the perfect path to victory. The labyrinth shifts every run, that means you decide which stages you want to face and in what order. Each stage features unique enemy types and attacks but they also each have a particular resource you can find in abundance. Consider your options to navigate the labyrinth and emerge powerful enough to overcome what awaits you at the end.
