IncrementalOS is a love letter to the 90s desktop. Watching the little recycle bin fill up. IncrementalOS is built around that feeling. You start with nothing but a desktop, a Start menu, and a single icon called My Computer. Everything else you have to earn. Every program you unlock is a fully playable system based on something you'd actually find on an old computer. Task Manager has you watching processes spin up and clicking down the ones that look like trouble before they crash your system. Defragment turns disk cleanup into a proper little puzzle, swapping fragmented blocks back into order before your drive drifts into chaos. File Explorer has you dragging files into the right folders before your inbox overflows. Security Center throws waves of malware at your firewall in a straight-up arcade shooter, because sometimes the best defense really is a well-aimed turret. Every window, every button, every progress bar is styled after the operating systems a lot of us grew up on. You can personalize your desktop too, new wallpapers and cursors to unlock as you go, because half the fun of an old PC was making it look like yours. Once you've pushed your system as far as it'll go, you reboot. Your money resets, your programs lock back up, but the experience and stat growth you earned carry forward permanently, along with a whole separate skill tree you spend on across every future run. Each reboot makes the next one faster, and you can decide how long you push before you push the reset button.
