Acerca de Ecos de Valdrenne
A city of today that believes in nothing
It has been raining for hours. Three weeks ago the ground gave way in a vacant lot at the end of the street; the town hall called it sewer works and nobody asked again. That night three strangers cross paths on their way to the same place, for different reasons: a man who has seen this eleven times and never arrived in time, a woman who reads a name scraped off under the ink of a torn page, and a sixteen-year-old who has spent three weeks sleeping two doors down from the hole.
What lies underneath belongs to no one. It belongs to eight pantheons — Egypt, the Norse, the Maya, Japan, India, Rome, the Christian heaven and the Void — that have spent centuries holding up, between all of them, something that has already broken. Valdrenne is not a kingdom: it is what is left when the air remembers.
The sword doesn't kill: it echoes
A classic turn-based JRPG reached through a side-scrolling map that is played, not walked. What you cut on the map doesn't die: it goes into the Resonator. Cutting in a row builds a chain, and that chain enters the battle with you as an advantage. Taking a hit empties it, so exploring has a price — and the fight starts when you decide.
Turns with your hands busy
- Timed hits on attack and on defense: land the window and the blow fires.
- A Resistance bar that shatters when you hit the right weakness.
- Mark with Mira, detonate with Kael: marks that another character sets off.
- "The air remembers": steal a named attack from an enemy and keep it.
Eight deities, each with area magic, a trait of its own and a summon; pair combinations and the Trinity Resonance, all three at once.
Eight countries, and the map reopens
Cairo, Yucatán, Kailash, Luxor, Norway, Rome, Izumo and Iceland, each with its deity and its Echo. Every favor you earn is also a traversal power that opens places you already walked past: leap a chasm, reveal what cannot be seen, seal what is still open.
