Click to add workers. Gain resources and hire more workers. Numbers go up faster with more workers. Wheat. Wood. Stone. Trade. Faith. Military, Technology. Gold. You must gain all these to finally become the ruler of all medieval Europe. Focus on each resource in separate runs or dabble and experiment. Sell your hamlet/ village/ town/ city/ province/ kingdom for gold and start again with upgrades. You can buy new tiles with gold. In the end you will have enough gold to buy influence and become the one who wears the crown. Runs can be finished in ~20 mins or you can idle and watch the numbers go up before you sell your kingdom for even more gold. Unlock new tiles for new resources. Unlock modifiers and perks so you can create a better kingdom next time. Specializing in a single resource is a wise way to accumulate the most gold but synergies and modifiers can be keys in unlocking new growth or resources. Without having the most gold, you cannot buy influence and secure alliances, without influence, you can never wear the crown. Finish your runs in 20 mins or idle to see numbers go up!
