Over Traffic Architect
Traffic Architect is a road builder and traffic-management game. Build and transform the infrastructure network of a self-growing, fully simulated city, where every new building sends fresh trips onto your roads: people driving to work, trucks making deliveries.
Every traffic jam has a cause. You provide the creative fix: a few more lanes, a retimed signal, an extra road link, or a whole new highway with an interchange where the crossing used to be. Build it and watch the traffic flow.
And when more asphalt stops working, build a public transport network. A bus line with bus-only lanes, a rail link or a metro tunnel placed where people already travel fills up fast, and every rider is one less car in your junction.
Design the network
- Upgrade roads through 11 tiers, from gravel tracks to boulevards and multi-lane highways
- Cross rivers with bridges and mountains with tunnels in one simple move
- Rebuild a jammed crossing as a full interchange in one click: 3-way compact or trumpet where three meet, a compact or wide cloverleaf where two roads cross
- Shape the flow with one-way streets, turn restrictions and per-junction rules, then tune the traffic lights phase by phase
Traffic simulated car by car
- Every vehicle is simulated. Follow a single car across town and see the jam from inside it
- The people using your network report back, a smooth run, a long wait or a detour twice the direct distance, and a congestion heat map shows where the network hurts
- Over two dozen live metrics, from queued cars to transit share, each charted across the whole run so you can see what a new interchange did to the numbers
Move beyond the car
- Bus lines with routes and stops, plus bus lanes and bus-only roads so your buses don't sit in jams
- Passenger rail and underground metro with stations, level crossings and tunnels. Passengers route across your entire network, bus, rail, metro, transfers included. Build connections, and people will use them
- Freight rides the rails: dedicate lines, connect industry to demand, and the trucks come off your roads. Goods change trains at shared stations the same way passengers do
Build it your way
- Traffic Challenges: puzzles where you build the interchanges by hand, one ramp at a time, then test whether enough cars get through
- Creative mode: place buildings yourself, no budget and no way to lose
- Full map editor: sculpt terrain, rivers, mountains and lakes, then play real runs on your own maps and share them on Steam Workshop
- Large maps up to 18x18 km, with dense downtown districts and suburban settlements
